Making your way around is not as daunting as you may have imagined, as most train station signs are in English as well as Japanese. Announcements on Bullet Trains informing you of the approaching station are also in English. |

Health Matteres |
No vaccination or medication is required for British citizens travelling from the UK to Japan. We would recommend that you consult your doctor for up to date information, particularly if you are pregnant, elderly or accompanied by young children.
Further information can be found at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office website. |
|
Passport & Visas |
A full 5 or 10 year passport is required for all destinations which must be valid for at least 6 months after the date of your arrival back into the UK. UK and most EU passport holders do not require visas for the purpose of tourism for stays up to 90 days. For further information, please contact the Japanese Consulate or access the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs website www.mofa.go.jp.
Euro Creative Tours (UK) Ltd. (ECT) cannot accept liability or consider refunds for clients who are unable to travel because of insufficient/incorrect documentation. |
|
Currency |
The unit currency is the Japanese Yen. While the acceptance of credit cards is expanding, Japan is still a largely cash based society. Businesses displaying credit card symbols, may only accept cards issued in Japan. Cash can be withdrawn through the international Cirrus and Plus networks at ATMs in Post Offices. Traveller's cheques can be carried as backup. |
