Excursions in and around Tokyo

Lose yourself in Hayao Miyazaki’s animation world. Japan’s leading animation director is best known for the Oscar award winning “Spirited Away”. This will be an afternoon of fun for all the family.

 

Mt. Fuji & Hakone

Visit the 5th Station of Mt. Fuji, cruise on Lake Ashi and ride the cable car up Mt. Komagatake in Hakone National Park. Return by Bullet Train.

Nikko – UNESCO

Visit the UNESCO World Heritage listed Toshogu Shrine as well as the beautiful Kegon Waterfall and Lake Chuzenji.

Kamakura Walking Tour

Travel by local train to Kamakura. Visit the Great Buddha, Hase Kannon Temple and Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine.

F1 Racing

Enjoy world-class Formula One Racing at Fuji Speedway where the world’s best drivers battle in the Japanese Grand Prix.  Tickets include return daily transfers from Tokyo to the Speedway.

Nagoya 1 day

Experience both contemporary and historic Japan in a day.  During this excursion you will visit Atsuta Shrine, Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology and Nagoya castle.

Half-day tour visiting Nijo Castle, the Golden Pavilion, Kyoto Imperial Palace and the Handicraft Centre.

Kyoto Morning & Craft

Kyoto Maiko Night

Enjoy a Tempura for dinner and be entertained by the dance performance of a Maiko (apprentice geisha).

Hiei-zan Enryaku-ji & the experience of Zazen

Mon, Thu (Apr – Nov)
Visit Enryaku-ji Temple on Mt. Hiei and try Zezen, Buddhist-Style meditation. Enjoy a vegetarian lunch as eaten by the monks.

Nara Afternoon

Daily
Take in the grandeur of the Great Buddha within Todaiji Temple and the thousands of lanterns around Kasuga Shrine. Watch out for the deer in Nara Park.

Kyoto & Nara 1 Day

This tour is a combination of the Kyoto Morning & Nara Afternoon Tours.

Walking in Sagano Arashiyama

Wed, Sat (Mar – Nov)
Travel by train to this beautiful area where you will visit Jojakkoji Temple, walk through a bamboo grove and cross the Togetsukyo Bridge, all in a morning.

Himeji Castle & Sake Brewery

Tues, Thurs, Sat
Visit the magnificent UNESCO World Heritage listed Himeji Castle and sample sake after touring the Hakutsuru Sake Brewery in Kobe.

 

Excursions in and around Hiroshima

Hiroshima & Miyajima 1 Day

Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat
Take a ferry to Miyajima Island home to Itsukushima Shrine & hundreds of protected deer. Then, visit the unforgettable A-Bomb Dome within the Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima.


Others

Sumo

Experience the tradition and pageantry of this 1500-year-old sport.  Two-week tournaments take place six times a year on every odd month. The location varies between Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka.

Theatre

For a truly authentic flavour of Japan, why not visit the theatre. The skills required for Kabuki, Noh and the Bunraku (puppetry) have been passed down from generation to generation for centuries.

Sports

For something a little different, let us arrange a round of golf, a day at the races or entry to watch a game of football or baseball.

Cooking

Enjoy a hands-on cooking experience in a Japanese home.  Learn to make sushi or cook home-style Japanese cuisine, before sitting down to eat the meal you have prepared.  Available in both Tokyo and Kyoto.
