Notes about the 2-day Mt Fuji tour 

• Children under the age of 6 cannot take part in this tour. Tour participants aged 6 - 15 years of age are required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is 20 years of age or older. Tour participants aged 16 - 19 years of age can join the tour alone on the condition that they can provide written permission from a parent or guardian.
• This tour package does not include mountain climbing insurance. Mountain climbing insurance in Japan is not available for foreign nationals. We recommend that customers purchase insurance before leaving the UK.
• Climbing sticks can be purchased at a discount at the 5th station rest house.
• The tour group will be joined by a Japanese tour group. The English-speaking guide will mainly attend to the English-speaking group throughout the tour.

The Grand Sumo Tournament is held six times throughout the year.   In January (Tokyo), March (Osaka), May (Tokyo), July (Nagoya), September (Tokyo), and November (Fukuoka), it is always held for 15 days from the 2^nd Sunday of the month.

You will have the chance to see the rituals and culture surrounding the traditional sport.  In fact, with bouts only taking a few minutes each, it is the ceremony of the event that plays the most important part of a day at the sumo.

Ticket sales start from one month before the tournament and Jaltour can book your sumo ticket for whichever day and seating area you want (subject to availability).

Of the remain tournaments in 2010, you are able to join guided tours for the Nagoya and Tokyo tournaments. The tour price starts from £86.00 per person (A-class reserved seat for Nagoya and B-class reserved seat for Tokyo)
