Visit Takayama, the home of Japanese craftsmanship, and Shirakawago, a traditional Japanese village. Head to Kanazawa to see one of the three most beautiful gardens in Japan and the local samurai quarter before traveling to Kyoto, the cultural heart of Japan. In Kyoto you can visit Arashiyama, a district of scenic beauty and enjoy lunch on a Yakatabune (boat) tour.
Depart London on a nonstop flight to Tokyo.
Upon arrival at Tokyo you will be met by an English speaking assistant who will help you board a reserved taxi to your hotel. Stay for 4 nights.
Morning sightseeing tour of Tokyo by coach, including Meiji Shrine, Imperial Palace East Garden and Sensoji Temple. Afternoon free.
|Day 4||Tokyo – Nikko – Tokyo (L).
Full-day guided sightseeing tour to Nikko, visiting the spectacula Lake Chuzenji and Kegon Waterfall.

|Day 6||Mount Fuji & Hakone (L).
Depart Tokyo on a coach with a guide for Hakone, visiting the 5th station of Mount Fuji. Enjoy sightseeing in the Hakone National Park, including a cruise on Lake Ashi, Hakone Ropeway, and Mount Komagatake. Stay overnight.
Transfer by bus with an assistant to Odawara Station. Travel by bullet train and express train to Takayama. In the afternoon visit Yatai Kaikan Hall and Kusakabe Folkcraft Museum. Stay overnight.
|Day 8||Takayama – Shirakawa-go – Kanazawa (L).
Guided sightseeing tour of Shirakawago and Gokayama before continuing to Kanazawa by local bus. Stay overnight.
Guided sightseeing tour of Kanazawa, including Higashichaya street, Tentokuin Temple, a former samurai residence, and Kenrokuen Garden; one of Japan’s most beautiful traditional gardens. Transfer by express train to Kyoto. Stay for 4 nights.
|Day 10||Kyoto – Nara – Kyoto (L)
Fullday guided sightseeing tour of Kyoto and Nara, including Golden Pavilion, Nijo Castle, and the Kyoto Imperial Palace / Kitano Tenmangu temple. After lunch, travel by coach to Nara, visiting Todaiji Temple; famous for its Great Buddha, and Kasuga Shrine.
Free to explore Kyoto or you may take an optional tour.
|Day 12||Kyoto: Sagano Bamboo Grove and Arashiyama.
Walking tour through scenic Arashiyama and Sagano Bamboo Grove. Inquire about enjoying lunch on a traditional Japanese river boat.
Transfer to a Kansai airport and take a domestic flight to Tokyo for your connecting flight to London.
