On our Semi-Escorted tours you will join guided tours varying in length from a morning to several days. However, in between these you are free to explore, with the aid of extensive information provided by Jaltour.
Tour through some of East Honshu’s most scenic areas including Hakone National Park and the Ise Peninsula, while also visiting significant cultural sites such as Tokyo’s Meiji Shrine, Nagoya’s Toyota Museum and Kyoto Imperial Palace.
Itinerary
| Day 1 | London – Tokyo Depart London on a non-stop Japan Airlines flight to Tokyo. |
| Day 2 | Tokyo Transfer by public airport bus to your hotel. Stay for 3 nights. |
| Day 3 | Tokyo Morning sightseeing tour of Tokyo, including Imperial Palace Plaza and Meiji Shrine. Afternoon free. |
| Day 4 | Tokyo Free to explore Tokyo, or you may take an optional tour. |
| Day 5 | Tokyo - Mt. Fuji & Hakone (L) Depart Tokyo with a guide for the 5th Station of Mt. Fuji and Fuji Visitor Centre; enjoy lunch and afternoon sightseeing in Hakone National Park, including Hakone Ropeway, Owakudani Valley and a cruise on Lake Ashi. Stay overnight. |
| Day 6 | Hakone - Nagoya (L) Transfer with a guide by bus to Odawara, and then travel to Nagoya by bullet train. After lunch, tour Nagoya, visiting Nagoya Castle and Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology. Stay overnight. |
| Day 7 | Nagoya - Toba - Kyoto (L) Travel with a guide by train to Toba. Visit Ise Jingu Shrine and Okage Yokocho. After lunch visit Ama woman divers’ huts and Mikimoto Pearl Island, before continuing by train to Kyoto. Stay for 2 nights at a hotel. |
| Day 8 | Kyoto - Nara - Kyoto (L) Morning sightseeing tour of Kyoto, including Nijo Castle, Kyoto Imperial Palace and Golden Pavilion in the morning. After lunch, travel to Nara visiting Todaiji Temple, famous for its Great Buddha, and Kasuga Shrine. Return to Kyoto. |
| Day 9 | Kyoto (D) Transfer independently to a traditional Japanese inn (ryokan). Free to explore Kyoto, or you may take an optional tour. Stay overnight at the ryokan. |
| Day 10 | Kyoto - Hiroshima (B) Travel by train to Hiroshima using the Japan Rail Pass. Stay for 2 nights. |
| Day 11 | Hiroshima/Miyajima Free to explore Hiroshima, or visit Miyajima Island using your Japan Rail Pass. |
| Day 12 | Hiroshima - Tokyo Travel to Tokyo by bullet train using your Japan Rail Pass. Stay overnight. |
| Day 13 | Tokyo - London Transfer by express train to Tokyo Narita Airport using your Japan Rail Pass. Non-stop Japan Airlines flight to London, arriving the same day. |
