Tohoku Explorer

Visit Northern Honshu and enjoy scenery and historic sites; stay in a ryokan in Naruko Onsen, while trying some of the many onsen in the village and in Matsushima, site of one of Japan’s top three views.

Itinerary

Day 1	London - Tokyo Depart London Heathrow Airport on a non-stop Japan Airlines flight to Tokyo.
Day 2	Tokyo Transfer by public airport bus to your hotel. Stay for 3 nights.
Day 3-4	Tokyo Free time to explore Tokyo, or you may take optional tours.
Day 5	Tokyo - Naruko Onsen (D) Use your JR East Pass to travel to Naruko Onsen. Stay for 2 nights at a Japanese Ryokan.
Day 6	Naruko Onsen (B, D) Free to relax and enjoy Naruko.
Day 7	Naruko Onsen - Morioka (B) Use your JR East Pass to travel to Morioka. Stay for 3 nights.
Day 8-9	Morioka Free to enjoy Morioka or use your JR East Pass to visit nearby places such as Hiraizumi, Kakunodate or Lake Tazawa.
Day 10	Morioka - Matsushima (D) Use your JR East Pass to travel to Matsushima. Stay for 2 nights at a Japanese Ryokan.
Day 11	Matsushima (B, D) Free to enjoy Matsushima
Day 12	Matsushima - Tokyo - Tokyo Narita (B) Use your JR East Pass to travel to Tokyo and onto Tokyo Narita Airport. Stay overnight at an airport hotel.
Day 13	Tokyo - London Depart on a non-stop Japan Airlines flight to London Heathrow Airport, arriving on the same day.
