Japan has a number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This guided tour introduces you to just some of the spectacular sites in Nikko, Shirakawago, and Kyoto.
Visit Takayama, the home of the art of craftsmanshiop, and Shirakawago, a traditional way of Japanese living. Head to Kanazawa and see one of the top-three gardens in Japan and the local Samurai Quarter before travelling to the cultural heart of Japan; Kyoto, where you will be able to partake in a traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony.

| Day 1 | London – Tokyo Depart London on a direct flight to Tokyo. |
| Day 2 | Tokyo Transfer by airport bus to Tokyo. Stay for 4 nights. |
| Day 3 | Tokyo Morning sightseeing tour of Tokyo, including Tokyo Tower observatory, Imperial Palace Plaza and Asakusa Kannon Temple. Afternoon free. |
| Day 4 | Tokyo - Nikko - Tokyo (L) Full-day sightseeing tour to Nikko, visiting the fabulous Tamozawa Imperial Villa and Kirifuri Waterfall. |
| Day 5 | Tokyo Free to explore Tokyo, or you may take an optional tour. |
| Day 6 | Tokyo - Mt. Fuji & Hakone (L) Depart Tokyo with a guide for Hakone, visiting Fuji Visitor Centre and the 5th Station of Mt. Fuji on the way; enjoy afternoon sightseeing in Hakone National Park, including Hakone Ropeway, Owakudani Valley and a Lake Ashi cruise. Stay overnight. |
| Day 7 | Hakone - Takayama Transfer by bus with an assistant to Odawara station. Travel by bullet train and express train to Takayama. In the afternoon, visit Yatai Kaikan Hall and Kusakabe Folkcraft Museum. Stay overnight. |
| Day 8 | Takayama - Shirakawago - Kanazawa Guided sightseeing tour at the Takayama morning market, before travelling by coach to the World Heritage listed village Shirakawago, famed for unique architecture called Gassho-Zukuri. Continue to Kanazawa by local bus. Stay overnight. |
| Day 9 | Kanazawa - Kyoto Guided sightseeing tour of Kanazawa, including Kenrokuen Garden, one of the Japan’s three most beautiful traditional gardens, Kutaniyaki Pottery Kiln and the Nakamachi Samurai District. Transfer to Kyoto by express train. Stay for 4 nights. |
| Day 10 | Kyoto Free to explore Kyoto in the morning. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided scenic tour along the Philosopher’s Path including a visit to Ginkakuji Temple, and a Tea Ceremony experience. |
| Day 11 | Kyoto - Nara - Kyoto (L) Full-day guided sightseeing tour of Kyoto and Nara, including the Golden Pavilion, Nijo Castle and Kyoto Imperial Palace / Nishi-Honganji Temple. After lunch, travel by coach to Nara, visiting Todaiji Temple, famous for its Great Buddha, and Kasuga Shrine. Return to Kyoto. |
| Day 12 | Kyoto Free to explore Kyoto, or you may take optional tours. |
| Day 13 | Kyoto - London Transfer by shared shuttle taxi to Osaka Itami Airport. Take a domestic flight to Tokyo Narita for non-stop flight to London, arriving the same day. |
