Explore the islands where Japan ‘began’, and take in some breathtaking scenery. In this tour, you will have the chance to stay in authentic, traditional Japanese-style accommodation, whilst being able to see and visit some of the beautiful nature that Japan has to offer. In Kagoshima, visit one of the country’s most active volcanoes, Sakurajima. Visit the castle town of Kumamoto, before travelling to Mount Aso; one of the largest active volcanoes in the world. In the onsen town of Yufuin, you can stay in traditional Japanese-style accommodation, experience a traditional Japanese hot-spring and explore the various surrounding pristine nature and scenery. Make your way to Fukuoka to experience some of the country’s best cuisine; Hakata ramen, before taking a morning flight back to London via Tokyo the following day.

| Day 2 | Tokyo - Kagoshima Take a domestic early-morning flight to Kagoshima. Transfer by airport bus to Kagoshima (pay locally). Stay for 3 nights. |
| Day 3 - 4 | Kagoshima Free to explore Kagoshima and visit nearby Sakurajima, Chiran and Kirishima. |
| Day 5 | Kagoshima - Kumamoto Using the ticket provided, travel by bullet train to Kumamoto. Stay for 3 nights. |
| Day 6 - 7 | Kumamoto Free to explore Kumamoto and visit nearby Mount Aso. |
| Day 8 | Kumamoto - Yufuin (D) Use your JR Northern-Kyushu Pass to travel to Yufuin by train. Stay for 2 nights in a ryokan |
| Day 9 | Yufuin (B, D) Free to explore Yufuin and the surrounding area |
| Day 10 | Yufuin - Hakata, Fukuoka Use your JR Noterhn-Kyushu Pass to travel by train to Hakata. Stay overnight. |
| Day 11 | Fukuoka - London Transfer by subway to Fukuoka Airport (pay lcaolly). Depart on a flight to London via Tokyo arriving the same day. |
