Japanese Garden
“The best of nature’s handiwork in a limited space” wrote Japanese landscape gardener Seyemon Kusumoto who was associated Koraku-en, one of Japan’s Three most beautiful landscape gardens also involved Cheynes (Cottered) in Hertfordshire in 1923. Such a description is quite fitting for the countless gardens open to the public in Japan.
After spending a couple of nights in Tokyo, travel to the historic city Kanazawa, home to another one of Japan’s Three most beautiful gardens, Kenrokuen, then travel to ancient capital Kyoto.
A full-day private guided tour around the gardens of Kyoto is included. Visit Tofuku-ji Temple, originally dating from 1236, and home to important cultural properties and one of the largest Zen Buddhist sects in Japan. In the afternoon, explore Chishakuin Temple, established in 1598, one of where you can see some stunning gardens and painted panels and screens. Tour the Zen garden with maple trees at Kenniji Temple, and then pay a visit to Shisen-do; famous for its Japanese Azaleas. Your trip then extended to Okayama and visit Koraku-en.
