Okinawa consists of a string of islands to the southwest of Japan, about 3 hours by plane from Tokyo. Historically famous for its involvement in World WarⅡ, Okinawa also offers a unique cultural and outdoor experience in stark contrast to mainland Japan.
The subtropical weather, clear oceans and blue lagoons are perfect for diving and snorkelling, whether on the main island or one of the outer-lying islands such as Miyako or Ishigaki.
Iriomote Island is covered in rainforests, making it great for exploring the mangroves, rivers and beaches.
Simply put, visitors who travel here will be able to explore the furthermost reaches of Japan in secluded, subtropical surroundings.
