Comprising of six prefectures; Akita, Aomori, Fukushima, Iwate, Miyagi and Yamagata. Tohoku is certainly Off The Beaten Path and home to some of the best scenery in the country, away from the crowds. A very rural part of the country where the pace of life is slower and laid-back, combined with a variety of delicious food, friendly locals and spectacular scenery, Tohoku will definitely reward those who venture here with their own unique Japan experience, often not possible in the usual tourist areas.
