Morning walking tour of Uji, a small city and short train ride from Kyoto, is famed for its green tea. Enjoy authentic Tea Ceremony experience.
Picturesque Uji city is located between Kyoto and Nara and well known a producer of Green Tea.
Experience an authentic tea ceremony in Taihoan teahouse and enjoy a stroll along Uji River and a view from Uji Bridge, which is one of the oldest bridge in Japan and considered most romantic spots in Kyoto because of the world popular 11th – century literary “The Tale of Genji”.
Visit of World Heritage Site, Byodo-in Temple is included. The image of Hou-ou-do Hall (Phenix Hall) is featured in 10 yen coin and you can also see a fictitious bird on the roof on the back of 10,000 yen note.

Meet with National Government Licensed Interpreter Guide and travel by local train from Kyoto to Uji (about 20 minutes). *Non-reserved local train. Seating is not guaranteed.
Upon arrival at Uji, stroll along Uji River and Nakanoshima Park before heading to Taiho-an teahouse where you can experience an authentic Tea Ceremony.
Visit Byodo-in Temple, originally a villa for a powerful clan, Fujiwara family in Heian era then converted to a Buddhist Temple in 1052. Enjoy one of Japan’s most famous examples Buddhist architect as well as spectacular landscape garden.
